Allergy

More than 50 million Americans suffer from some form of allergic disease each year. There are several types of allergic diseases, but the most common are allergic rhinitis, food allergies, and asthma. An allergist/immunologist, commonly called an allergist, is the best qualified to treat allergic diseases. In order to determine if you have an allergy, the allergist will take a thorough medical history and do a physical exam. Skin testing and sometimes blood testing are necessary to determine which substance is causing your allergy. Once your allergy triggers are identified the allergist will help you establish a treatment plan that is right for you.
