Smoking Cessation

Smoking Cessation

Frequent tobacco use can lead to nicotine dependence and serious health problems. Tobacco dependence is a chronic condition that often requires individuals to repeatedly work on quitting; however, it is safe to say that effective treatments and helpful resources do exist. Cessation can significantly reduce the risk of developing smoking-related diseases. Cigarette smoke can cause serious health problems, numerous diseases, and death. Fortunately, people who stop smoking greatly reduce their risk of smoke related diseases or premature death. Smoking cessation decreases the risk for lung and other types of cancer, reduces the risk for coronary heart disease, and stroke as well as reduces respiratory symptoms and lowers the risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

We at CAARD are dedicated to helping our patients stop smoking. We work with many resources to develop a personalized comprehensive treatment plan for smoking cessation.
